I decided it was time to try to learn some tatting from Cathy Bryant's book "Tatting". After making several knots, I finally made a double stitch! Yay! I know it is hard to see, but I compared it to the picture in the book and it is a double stitch. Now I'm making my first tatted project: a worm! With practice, my worm will look more regular and less twisted. My left hand needs to get used to keeping tension in the thread without tightening into a claw.

ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying it! I need to get used to it gradually. I woke up this morning and my left hand was numb :/ I made a ring last night! One little mistake and the ring won't close. I started over about six times! Now that I've had a taste of what it is like to tat, I am even more impressed with the things you've done! :)
