Great Big (real!) Spider
This big hairy spider has a beautiful web. She just hangs out in the middle of it in the backyard and doesn't bother anyone! Wonder what kind she is?
Possibly a European Garden Spider? They have the same colors and a similar web, but our spiders aren't quite as hairy as that one.. I got my boyfriend to Google it for me, and it looks like those spiders are common in the US as well :)
Cool! Thanks for the info. (You were brave looking at spider pics!) To get a good picture of this spider, I had to hold a leaf (strawberry) behind her so the camera would focus on her and not the plants several feet back. You can see my fingers in the picture. Yikes! That be cool if you made a beaded spider!
